To
Hon’ble Mr. Ban-Ki-Moon
Secretary General of the United Nation
New York. U.S.A.
Sir,
A new year gift to the world by a senior citizen of the world, K. K. Krishnan, an Indian.
Sub: Grow More Trees to Get More Rains and solve Drinking Water, Global warming and Climate Change of the World.
I give below the inner voice I received at about 3.30 A.M. of 28th November 2009: "Global warming is due to warming of deserts of the world and not due to developmental activities of the people of the world".
I passed the above message on to our Hon'ble Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh on 30th November 2009. I requested our Prime Minister to give orders to the concerned authorities of all the Indian States to reclaim all our deserts by growing trees in abundance within the next twenty five to fifty years. Also I requested our Prime Minister to kindly give advice to the leaders of the world to take suitable steps for growing trees in the deserts of the world and reclaim all the deserts of the world within the next one hundred years.
I have also requested, Shri Jairam Ramesh, Environment Minister of India, to present the above idea of reclamation of deserts of the world to solve global warming, climate change and shortage of drinking water of the world while addressing Copenhagan Conference.
I am passing the above message to you to-day with some changes as the Copanhagen Conference is over and I have been able to collect some more information on the above subject, which are as under:
Deserts cover about a seventh of the earth's land area. The largest desert in the world is the Sahara scorching desert in northern Africa. The Sahara spreads over about 9 million square kilometers. Other large deserts include Australian Desert, The Arabian Deserts, Gobi in China and Mangolia, Tar Deserts of India and Pakistan, 1.3 million square kilometer desert in North America, South Western low lands of Afghanistan consists mainly scorching desert.
All the above scorching deserts must be pumping up hot air in to the atmosphere in the day time during summer months, which must be melting snows and creating global warming.
Now I would like the world leaders to read my simple calculation as under:
- Let us take scorching deserts one seventh of earth's land as 14 per cent of the earth's land covered by scorching deserts.
- What will be the area of the green house gases carbon dioxide emitted into the atmosphere by total number of developed nations like U.S.A., Denmark, U. K. etc.? According to my calculation, it will not be more than .00001 per cent of the earth's land.
- What will be the area of the green house gases carbon dioxide emitted by all the undeveloped countries like BASIC four - Brazil, China, India, South Africa and all other 192 undeveloped countries? According to me, it will not be more than .000001 per cent of the earth's land.
Therefore it is absolutely clear that 14 per cent of the earth's land under scorching deserts create more dangerous global warming to the people of the whole world than the combined effect of emission of green house gases carbon dioxide created by the people of the whole world for their development. Moreover carbon dioxide is inhaled or eaten by trees.
With the correct inner voice given to me by God at the most appropriate time before Copeenhagon Conference, I have now grown from an ordinary about 79 years old Indian Senior Citizen to a World Ordinary Senior Citizen and hence I give you and all the world leaders the following programme of action to prevent global warming and solve climate change and also solve the drinking water problem.
1. To prevent global warming due to deserts and drought in the countries, the government of the country should construct two lakes in the centre of the village each one with filter plant for the supply of drinking water and the other for supply of water for irrigation and growing trees in the village in abundance. Pumping stations by the side of the nearest river should be built and water brought to the lakes through pipelines. Even if the river is 1,000 to 2000 km away and large amount of funds are to be spent for bringing water, this will help the people of the drought and desert area. More trees mean more rain. This in turn means more water which in reality will help fetch employment to jobless youth, as PVC and Steel pipe industries will flourish.
2. The climate change taking place in the world is due to large scale cutting of trees. If trees are grown in abundance like Indian capital New Delhi, Mumbai City, Goa, Kerala, Gujarat, Chhatisgarh, and many other States of India, there will be no climate change anywhere in the world. Further I would like to inform you and other world leaders that when trees grow in abundance there will be heavy rains and flood. Flood is a blessing in disguise, as underground water table will go up considerably and there will be no shortage of drinking water in the area. Flood time of the world should be converted to a fun time for young people of the world and they should learn swimming wherever possible. Kindly advice Scientists of the world to discover portable and folding boats so that the young people who learnt swimming can carry their own folded boats to participate in boat races.
I would like to draw your attention to the fact God while giving deserts like sahara desert has also given the world longest river the Nile. It flows more than 6400 km. through north Eastern Africa. There are thousands of rivers in the world. This is the time to instal two hundred thousand pumping stations by the side of world rivers, create two lakes each, one with filter plant for drinking water for fauna and human beings and the other for growing flora including trees and for irrigation in all the deserts and drought villages of the world and solve global warming, climate changes and drinking water problems of the world.
It should be the responsibility of the United Nation to give advice to all the developed nations to raise adequate resources to help all undeveloped nations for installing pumping stations by the side of the rivers, construct two lakes each in all the desert land and drought villages of the world, one with the filter plant for giving drinking water to fauna and human beings and the other for irrigation and growing flora including trees in abundance to enable the world to solve global warming and climate change also.
I am sending herewith for reference the following letters received by me.
- From Government of Gujrat dated 09/02/1988. After continuous growing trees for the last 20 years, Gujarat has now become a surplus rains State.
- Letter from Delhi: Delhi has now become one of the greenest capital cities of the world.
- Letter from Chhastisgargh State dated 23/09/2009.They have 44 per cent of the state geographical area under forest cover.
I now request you to:
- Pass the copy of this letter on to all the UNO members of the world with your advice to the developed nations to give financial help to developing countries for the installation of two hundred thousand pumping stations, purchase of PVC and steel pipes and for bringing saplings of trees from other countries and also to meet other expenses for the success of the above programme.
- Acknowledge reply of the letter to me with your advice on the subject
- To send a copy of your press statement on this subject to me from time to time so that I will have the satisfaction that I have done something for the welfare of human being, flora and fauna before my death.
Thanking you.
Yours faithfully,
K. K. Krishnan,
A Senior Citizen of the world, an Indian.
